Smiles and playtime at 7 weeks old.

Smiling at Daddy
Daddy tickling me
Sleeping with my thumb in my mouth
Such an angel when she is sleeping

Playing with toys for the first time.
Bri had to try out the baby toys too!

Kierra is 7 weeks old now and is smiling and cooing more and more. Bri always wants Kierra to "smile at me too." She is also holding her head up very well. On Monday we got out the baby mat and toys and Kierra really seemed to enjoy laying there kicking and looking around. Of course Bri had to try them out too! Today Kierra was taking a "short" nap in the cradle and when I went to check on her I found her with her thumb in her mouth (she usually doesn't suck her thumb). Last night Kierra slept from 11 pm to 5 am (yeah, if it would only last). Last night daddy was tickling Kierra and making her smile (maybe all that tickling wore her out so she slept well). Well Bri is at preschool and Kierra is asleep in the swing so I better get busy. Julie

Trip to AZ

Great Aunt Dorothy with Kierra & Bri Great Grandma & Grandpa with the girls
We just got back from a weekend trip to Arizona to visit Great Aunt Dorothy and Great Grandma and Grandpa. We had a great time. Brianna entertained Grandma and Grandpa the whole time. The girls did well on the trip and we (well Mommy at least) are glad to be home. Brianna did not want to come home even after hours on the road. Well gotta go for now as Kierra is needing Mommy's attention. More later. Julie

6 weeks old

Kierra- 6 weeks old.
Kierra getting her first bottle (and not liking one bit) on Saturday.
OK fine dad. If that is all I get I guess I will eat it.
Brianna with her T-ball set. (She picked out her own clothes)
Yeah! She hit the ball.
Just a snapshot of Kierra and Brianna today.

Kierra is 6 weeks old today. She is growing and changing sooo fast. She is more than a little spoiled and has decided that she can't (or doesn't want to) sleep unless she is being held. We are working on that but sometimes mommy needs sleep too, so I just oblige her for a little while. Daddy gave Kierra her first bottle of breastmilk on Saturday. She was not one bit happy at first but on the second attempt she was hungry enough that she drank it right down. We have to keep working on her so she will be ready when mommy has to go back to work in a few weeks. Brianna is working hard on potty training and earned this T-ball set as a prize for filling her potty chart with stickers. She and daddy had to go outside last night and try it out. Brianna is very independent and likes to pick out her own clothes. Sometimes she picks matching outfits and sometimes it ends up like the one she had on in the picture. If we are going out Mommy picks out the outfits but if we aren't going out I let her pick out her own clothes. Brianna stayed the weekend with Grandma and Papa and had a great time. It was much quieter at our house with only one baby around. Well better go for now. Julie

Happy Valentines Day

Happy Valentines Day to everyone. Brianna had preschool and got to have her first Valentines party. She was so excited because when we went out to the car it was snowing a little bit mixed with rain but when we got to her school it was snowing pretty good. I tried to get a picture of it for her. Bri loves snow. It was still snowing almost 4 hours later when I picked her back up from school but there was never any on the ground because the day before that it was in the 70's or maybe even 80 degrees outside. When we got home I took a few snapshots of them in their Valentines outfits. Kierra is starting to smile, sometimes I think she is doing it on purpose but maybe that is wishful thinking. Talk to everyone soon. Julie

California Girl

Kierra- 5 weeks old today.
Kierra in pink sunglasses
Kierra in her sandals

Kierra again Brianna helping Daddy plant flowers (pot and all).

Today was so warm and sunny that I thought Kierra needed some pictures in her beach outfit with her sunglasses and sandals. Brianna was helping daddy plant flowers on Saturday and she planted this one all by herself. Unfortunately she forgot to take the flower out of the little pot before she planted it. I just had to take a picture. She was so proud of herself for planting her flower all by herself. Daddy fixed it for her when she wasn't looking. Kierra saw her pediatrician today and she is doing well. Kierra loves to eat and it shows in that she weighed 10 lbs 1 oz and is now 22 1/4 inches long. Well gotta go for now. Julie

First Big Outing

Kierra enjoying the Living Desert

Brianna

Brianna and Kierra in the double stroller.

Last Thursday, Wesley and I took the girls to the Living Desert in Palm Springs for a little outing while daddy was off work. We all enjoyed our time together. Brianna especially enjoyed the model train set, the giraffes, and the butterflies. Kierra slept most of the time but did well. Well gotta go for now, Kierra is waking up again (somehow she always knows when Mom is on the computer). Julie

Kierra Jeanne

Kierra on Feb 6 - 4 weeks old

Brianna, MomMom, and Kierra on the day MomMom had to go home.

Hello everyone. I am trying to get started here. Wesley set this up for me and I am hoping to keep it updated for all our family and friends as I am terrible about checking and sending emails. I am hoping this will essentially replace email for me. Today Kierra smiled at me for the first time (of course we weren't fast enough to catch it with the camera). Kierra is growing so fast and is 1 month old today. She went to her first resteraunt tonight. She did well as she slept through it. Brianna is a big help and frequently reminds us that she is a "big sister." She loves to get clean clothes and clean blankets for Kierra (too many some times). Brianna's newest word is "cullinary delight" which Daddy taught her at dinner tonight. We are still adjusting and have been very thankful that Daddy was home to help us this week since MomMom had to leave last weekend. We sure miss MomMom. Well I better go for now. Julie
